The visuals for Téléthon Polynésie 2025 (AFM-Téléthon)
The Téléthon has its heart. We didn’t want to redraw it as the smooth red one you see everywhere. We wove it — the way we weave niau, the coconut palm frond — and set it between two hands drawn in our own patterns. Solidarity, here, is done with many hands, strand by strand, until it holds. Everyone recognises that gesture: we’ve all watched it, we’ve all done it.
On the back: science and mana
On the back, we took what the Téléthon actually funds: research into genetic disease. DNA. But a strand of DNA on its own is cold. we closed it into the sign for infinity and made it the face of a seated tiki, calm. Science on one side, mana on the other, in the same figure — and the infinity saying the one thing that matters: hope doesn’t end.
The poster: ia ora na
For the 2025 poster, we started from two words we say a hundred times a day without thinking: ia ora na. We greet each other by wishing each other life. A cause that fights for life was already inside our hello. Around it, we let everything we protect by giving spring from an open hand: children with their arms raised, the whale, the turtle, the birds, the flowers, the whole island.
A Téléthon poster doesn’t need to ask. When people see their own weaving, their own tiki, their own hello, they understand that this cause is family. And here, for family, we give.
