Role

Writing, Direction and Animation

The ones who teach children how to read when they don’t know yet. The job easiest to name, and hardest to do.

The ESPE of French Polynesia trains the future teachers of primary schools.

When they trusted us with the introduction video, we asked ourselves what a future teacher actually learns to do. The answer fits in a single image: they learn to arrange things that move.

A classroom is a machine in constant motion — thirty children, thirty trajectories, thirty moods, thirty paces of learning. A good teacher doesn’t stop the motion. They compose it. They hold together elements that have no reason to coincide, until each finds its place.

So we didn’t make a film about a school. We made a film about what happens inside a teacher’s head.

The Rubik’s cube

We start inside a room that moves in every direction. The floor slides, the walls turn, nothing stays in place. We move, we fumble. And then we pass through a wall — and that’s when we understand. We weren’t inside a room. We were inside a Rubik’s cube.

Each face searches for its alignment. And when every piece has found its place, the cube freezes: the ESPE logo appears.
