Role
Photography and Art Direction.
Bobby Holcomb is one of the most loved artists Polynesia has ever produced. From Huahine, until his death in 1991, he painted hundreds of our legends in bold colour.
Those paintings still live in the country’s memory.
We photographed Jacques Laurent, then rebuilt the shot in digital painting until he stood inside Holcomb’s world: the flat bold colour, the lagoon light, a figure planted like a marae. A living man, painted into the lineage Bobby started.
Why it works
A generic campaign photo is forgotten by lunch. This kind of image isn’t because it carries a place, a history, a face people feel they already know. That’s what gets shared, screenshotted, and remembered long after the vote.

What we make
Photography and digital painting, fused into one image : campaign visuals, portraits and brand pieces that could only come from here, and that people don’t forget. For candidates, brands, events, and anyone done looking like everyone else.
With gratitude to Bobby Holcomb. His art gave a generation the will to love what matters the most on this planet… Yeah we know that you know what we’re talking about.
This work is our way of saying māuruuru, mahalo and carrying Bobby’s heritage.
