Twenty-five years that a university has held its ground on a fenua of 280,000 people.
Twenty-five years that it has trained doctors, lawyers, researchers, teachers — who walk home after class, who speak reo with their grandparents on weekends, and who model the world from here.
We sometimes get asked whether a real university can exist far from the great centers. The answer is twenty-five years old and it’s called the UPF.
To mark the occasion, the university trusted us with its anniversary film. We tried to fit into it what an institution like this one really carries: not just figures and dates, but the cumulative weight of every life it has bent since 1999.
The music and sound design were composed entirely by Teiva Viaris, of Third Fish Music. The drone shots by Tom Winchester. Two brothers in the work, without whom this film wouldn’t have the matter it has.
