A rainy night. Lightnings in the sky. the ideas sharper.
For a client’s va’a competition, we’d modeled a trophy in 3D — an object you could spin, light, hold with your eyes. Where others had delivered a 2D sketch, we’d delivered something already alive.
We could have stopped there. We couldn’t.
We invented an imaginary scenario : the trophy was born in a volcano, the day a strand of lightning lost its way inside. Six warriors covet it. Six, like the six paddlers of a canoe (the va’a). Each is ready to do anything to seize it — because it is proof that you’ve crossed what others didn’t dare.
